To encourage reading, Grace Cascade Christian Elementary School students had the opportunity to participate in this year’s Reading Hall of Fame. For every six books read during the contest time period (start of Christmas break to end of February) a student could fill out a Reading Hall of Fame form to display on the library wall. Each form completed also entered the student into a drawing for a chance to win a Kindle Fire. (Preschool students could have 12 books read to them to qualify.) The books had to be age appropriate and only one per form could be a cartoon.
On Friday, March 3, 2017, the Reading Hall of Fame drawing took place during chapel service. Below are the final results:
128 students participated36 students had multiple entriesA total of 1536 books were readVincent Dao – 4th grade Preszler’s class was recognized for turning in 7 entries – which meant he read 42 books!The classroom competition was a tie, first time ever, between Mrs. Amann’s and Mrs. Jiles’s classes. Their classes will receive extra check out allowances for the entire month of March.AND the grand prize winner, who received a Kindle Fire, was Malia Taulani, Mrs. Cave’s 3rd grade class.
