The Nicaragua spring ministry outreach team, comprised of seventeen Cascade Christian High School students and four adults, is conducting a shoe collection drive beginning January 18 and ending February 24 to raise funds for their spring break trip. The students will earn money based on the number of pairs collected, as Funds2Orgs will purchase all of the donated goods.

El Padul schoolThis is the 8th year Cascade Christian students and chaperones have conducted a spring break mission trip to their sister school, Colegio Cristiano El Padul, located in Managua, Nicaragua. The students have participated in several service projects, including building bookshelves for the school’s library and painting classrooms. In addition to service projects, the Cascade Christian students have assisted with the El Padul
students’ English studies.

Anyone can help by donating gently-worn used or new shoes at Cascade Christian High School or Grace Christian School.  There will be a designated box at Grace Christian School outside the front door and a box in the entry at the high school.

“We are excited about our shoe drive,” said Lorraine Evenson, Nicaragua Connection Coordinator. “We know that most people have extra shoes in their closets they would like to donate to us and help those less fortunate.  It’s a win-win for everyone!”

By donating shoes, the shoes will be given a second life and it will make a difference in people’s lives, as well as helping the Nica team raise money for their mission trip.
