March 2nd is National Read Across America Day, which was established in 1997 to motivate children to read. And what better day to celebrate reading than on the birthday of children’s author, Dr. Seuss! Throughout this week our administrators will be visiting our younger students to read them a story!
Research has shown that children who are motivated and spend more time reading do better in school. (“Background on Read Across America.” NEA. N.p., n.d. Web. 02 Mar. 2017.)
