Emilie Copley 2015 YMCA Teen Character Award

Emily Copley is a junior at Cascade Christian High School. She is quiet and studious and enjoys her friends and the “feeling of family” at Cascade.

When not at school, Emilie keeps busy serving others. She has worked with various camps at her church and assists in the church’s day care. Every year she looks forward to volunteering with the Pear Blossom Festival and local golf tournaments.

Her belief that it is better to give than to receive has taught her how to be compassionate.

Her service to others has not gone unnoticed. On November 19, 2015, Emilie was recognized at the YMCA President’s Round Table and Character Awards Recognition Dinner where she received the YMCA Teen Character Award. The YMCA Teen Character Award is presented to one student from each of the Rogue Valley High Schools who demonstrates the YMCA’s core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility through actions and lifestyle.

After high school Emilie is considering a career where she can continue to serve others, possibly as a teacher or as an Emergency Room nurse. Currently she is exploring college options outside of Oregon, as she would like to travel and expand her horizons.

Cascade Christian High School is honored to have Emilie represent our school in the community and we pray that the Lord guides her and uses her for His Kingdom in the days to come.

As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace… ~1 Peter 4:10
