Challenger Star Olson Flies With Eagles
As a high school freshman, he was just 5'7" and weighed 125 pounds. Grace Christian's 1st Principal Turns 100! Norm Holden was hired as principal when Grace Christian opened in 1974 after teaching in Gold Hill. He served until his retirement in the 80s, and four of his eight children attended GCS- including Maureen, Gloria (class of '81), Wesley (class of '83), and David- who attended through his early high school years. ALL CLASSES CANCELLED FRIDAY, JANUARY 17TH
Due to the expected freezing temperatures overnight, and concerns regarding potentially hazardous road conditions Friday, all Grace Cascade Christian Schools will be closed. The teacher in-service scheduled for the afternoon has been moved to Friday morning from 9:30 am- 12:30 pm. Don't forget Monday is Martin Luther King Jr. Day, school will resume normal schedule Tuesday.

Megan Kim, CCHS Class of 2017, founded Spark, a literary journal, in 2015. At Wheaton College in Illinois, she has continued to pursue a passion for storytelling. How Long Does it Take to Melt a Marshmallow?
Earlier this month, Mrs. Wegner's 6th grade students built solar ovens out of recycled materials to test them to see how long it takes to melt a marshmallow. YUM! The answer: between 30 minutes and several hours!

Bear Creek Restoration Project Day 2018
Cascade Christian 7th and 8th graders, student mentors from Cascade Christian High School's stream ecology class, CCHS science teacher Mr. Gary Bennett, and members from Lomakatsi Restoration Project were hard at work today along Bear Creek which abuts the school property. Cascade Christian Middle School 8th grade students attended the Junior Achievement Finance Park simulation held at the Central High School campus. Today started very early. We met at the Medford Airport at 4am. Everyone made it through security without getting checked except Cristian and I! They took all of my food out of my bag, and some out of Cristian's too. We managed to all make the flight on-time, and had a peaceful flight to Denver. Caroling Kindergartners
Last week our Kindergarten students were able to spend time with our neighbors at Waterford at Three Fountains. They blessed the residents with Christmas carols, Bible verses, and handmade Christmas cards. The students did a fabulous job singing their carols, led by music teacher Mrs. Fretz and were just as blessed by the residents as they had blessed them. Jesus is the Reason for the Season!
Cascade Choir Performs at Grace Christian
On Friday, December 8, 2017, the Cascade Christian Choir, along with the high school band, were special guests at the Grace Christian Elementary School chapel. It is a long-standing tradition for the high school choir and band to perform for the younger students and is one of the ways Grace Christian and Cascade Christian stay connected as one school system.

Today Grace Christian Elementary School students held their math class at the "pizzeria". Officer Cuellar visits Middle School
Last week in Cascade Christian Middle School’s Junior Achievement class, our own Officer Cuellar paid a visit. As guest speaker, he shared with students about his career as a police officer. He even showed the class how to “lift” a fingerprint. Fascinating!
First Grade Spinner Art – 2017
A favorite art lesson for our first grade students is “spinner art”. Students learn about spiral lines as they watch their pens twirl across paper. Basic concepts, such as spiral lines, are built upon throughout the year as students attend their regular art classes.

Middle School Students Remember 9/11
Miss Swope's middle school students remembered the tragedy of 9/11 today by writing prayers onto red, white or blue lawn flags. These prayers are for the victims' families and for our country. National Day of Prayer 2017
Cascade Christian Middle School students led a prayer time during break today as part of the National Day of Prayer ceremonies taking place across our Nation. Works Cited Dash
While working on their research skills, Cascade Christian Middle School English Language Arts (ELA) students had to follow the Works Cited format for three different types of sources. Students worked together in teams on each citation and then had to DASH to check their answer. When their answer was 100% accurate, they were able to move on. When all of their citations were 100% accurate they received a candy prize!

US Heritage Scrapbook Party 2016-17
On January 26, 8th grade students who participated in the US Heritage Tour presented their scrapbooks to teachers, peers, and family members. Grace Christian School fourth grade students in Mrs. Amann's class heard from a Physical Therapist last Friday in their classroom. They have been studying how God created their bones. Two School Records Broken this Weekend in Track!
Congratulations to sophomore, Zach Booker, and freshman, Emily Stephens, who broke Cascade Christian High School track records this past weekend at the Maynard Mai Invitational held in Glide, Oregon. In the men's Triple Jump, Zach had an impressive 43'2" jump. Not only was this a CCHS record, but it also broke the record for the Maynard Mai meet! She has worked at Grace Christian since 1984, with the exception of two years (1996-1998) when she and her husband served with Wycliffe Bible Translators in Burkina Faso, West Africa. The Poetry Out Loud Assembly is always a well received event at Cascade Christian High School, with this year seemingly even more so. Mom’s in Prayer Provide Hearts full of Prayer
The Grace Christian School Mom's in Prayer group provided a pleasant surprise for our 7th and 8th grade students this week! They crafted hearts with handwritten notes of scripture. As they taped each unique heart unto the locker they prayed for that student. Isn't this awesome?! US Heritage Tour Scrapbook Party

Shoe Collection Drive
The Nicaragua spring ministry outreach team, comprised of seventeen Cascade Christian High School students and four adults, is conducting a shoe collection drive beginning January 18 and ending February 24 to raise funds for their spring break trip. The students will earn money based on the number of pairs collected, as Funds2Orgs will purchase all of the donated goods. Biology Students Receive Hands-on Learning
Every year the Cascade Christian High School biology students attend a two-day trip to the Oregon Coast, organized by Mr. Gary Bennett - Cascade science teacher, to take advantage of hands-on learning.
