On Saturday, February 24, 2018, the Cascade Christian High School JV and Varsity Brain Bowl teams competed at the High School Brain Bowl meet sponsored by Southern Oregon University Youth Programs.

We are proud to announce that our JV team was undefeated and came in first for Division B. Students on the JV team are Liz Montgomery, Tayte Traphagen, Michael Croy, Jessie Mason, Lily Akins (team captain), Lauren Anderchuk, and Nicholas Cramer. Hannah Smith is also a member but was unable to attend.

The Varsity team was also undefeated and earned the right to advance to the final match to be televised on PBS April 15th, time TBA. They will compete against North Valley High School. Due to illness and other commitments, our Varsity team was comprised of three students: Landon Moir, Ruben Ragsdale, and Kyle Wegner. Christina Cannon and Amelia Skelton are also members of the Varsity team.

Thank you to middle school student helpers: Melanie Snowden and Rose Hehn, and to Mr. Croy who stepped in as JV coach for Mr. Jeff Smith.

In addition to performing well in the academic challenge, Cascade Christian was one of four schools to be awarded the 2018 Sportsmanship Award for their “graciousness, courteousness, consideration of others, fun spirits and overall good sportsmanship behavior.”
