Stephanie Smith is a Cascade Christian High School Class of 2010 alumnus. She recently graduated from Oregon State University in 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications.

Stephanie has a passion for sports and youth, as has been evidenced throughout her life.

While attending Cascade Christian, Stephanie participated in soccer and softball all four years and was an active member of Youth for Christ. She was involved in a myriad of activities working with youth in organizations such as the Boys & Girls Clubs of Medford and White City; was a mentor with Wild Life (Young Life’s junior high club); and completed two internships in youth ministries at her home church, Jacksonville Presbyterian. Stephanie attended eight mission trips to Tijuana, Mexico, with her church where she assisted in building homes with Amor Ministries. Stephanie has also worked in the Grace Christian School Extended Enrichment Program and spent the last two summer’s working for the Grace Christian Summer Program. Her mom, Kris Smith, says of her daughter:

“She has a talent for working with kids.
She really does!” ~

Stephanie is now involved in a six-month commitment with YWAM (Youth With a Mission) where she spent three months training in Australia and a month in the country of Myanmar (formerly known as Burma).  Stephanie recently shared with her home church family regarding her time in Myanmar: “All 13 of us on my team will be in Yangon, which is a big city, working with HIV patients, doing kids ministry specifically through sports, and evangelism. We will also be spending some time in Mawlamyine doing some day trips into some smaller villages evangelizing, visiting a leper colony, teaching English, and Sunday school.” The picture above shows Stephanie in blue t-shirt and glasses surrounded by youth whom she ministered to while in Mawlamyine.

Stephanie is currently serving in Cambodia where she says, “We will be in Siemreap doing work with a Swiss ICF Church plant. We will be spending most of our time building a sports complex park for the youth… I am so excited to be able to work with the youth of Cambodia and evangelize through sports.

God has definitely been at work in my life here.
He has given me such revelation of who He is
and the purpose He has for my life.
~ Stephanie Smith

He…has revealed to me areas of my life where I truly wasn’t in step with Him. I’m not perfect, but God looks at me like I am fearfully and wonderfully made in His image.

I know full well of the love of the Father
and how you truly feel if you engage
in that love every day.”
~ Stephanie Smith

We at Cascade Christian High School are thrilled that Stephanie has found her calling and is able to be used as a vessel by Him to further His Kingdom through her passions. We look forward to hearing about what God continues to do in her life.

Please join us in praying for Stephanie’s safety as she travels in Cambodia. She has also asked for prayer to prepare her mind and heart to deal with difficult things she has never been exposed to before and for the rebuking of Satan and his work while she and her team are ministering in peoples’ lives.
