Cheerleaders are the primary generators of school spirit, both on campus and at sporting events. By example and direction, they encourage enthusiastic support for the teams in a positive Christian atmosphere. Cheerleaders are selected by tryouts. As part of their preparation for training they may attend cheerleading camp each summer.
The team cheers at home, and some away, football and basketball games, and some volleyball games. Cheer Team begins their competitive season during the winter, with competitions taking place in February.

Cascade Christian High School alumnus and former Challenger cheerleader, Becky (Hutson) Abbott has been coaching in the Rogue Valley since 2006 and joined Cascade as the Head Cheer Coach in 2013. Coach Abbott’s goals at Cascade are to develop Christlike qualities in her athletes through team unity, and sideline and competitive cheerleading, as well as to strive to be a light to not only the school, but as cheerleaders in the Rogue Valley and Oregon. The standards are high and athletic excellence is a top priority of the CCHS cheerleading program.
