WELCOME TO THE COMMONS | COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER

We are pleased to announce the opening of The Commons | College and Career Center.

The Commons is an all-in-one resource center dedicated to creating greater access to college and careers by providing a variety of tools and personal assistance to help students achieve their college and career goals.

The Commons will be available to students for a variety of uses, including personal study time, scholarship searches, writing college essays, meeting with College and/or military representatives. Students will learn about two and four year colleges and universities, testing and test preparation, financial aid and scholarships, career possibilities and college major descriptions. Reference materials and computers for online search opportunities are available for student use in The Commons.

In 2005, after twenty-four years at Southern Oregon University, Jeff Olson left his position as Head Football Coach and Assistant Professor to spend more time with his family. Making his way to public secondary education, Mr. Olson spent eleven years as a teacher, academic advisor and the Coordinator of the College and Career center. Mr. Olson is proficient in guiding students in their exploration of life after high school — whether that involves attending college, military service, or job search. Mr. Olson has experience in helping families with scholarship searches, Financial Aid and the FAFSA, the NCAA Clearing House, the ASVAB exam and other areas that relate to both college attendance and career goals.
