Ken Townsend

Dr. Townsend brings to Cascade Christian High School over 30 years of experience working in the education industry. He served as the Northwest Regional Director of the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI), one of the organizations that GCCS receives its’ accreditation through. He brings exceptional training and experience in Christian schools including many years as a Christian school principal and five years as Superintendent at Nampa Christian Schools in Idaho. Following this, he accepted a position in 2005 as Associate Director of the before-mentioned ACSI. He retired from ACSI in 2017, after serving the final eight years in the Regional Director position and spent the past year as an executive coach/consultant to ACSI member schools. In addition, Dr. Townsend served 28 years as a chaplain in the United States Air Force Reserve, entering as a chaplain candidate in 1978 and retiring as a colonel in 2008. He is a lifetime member of the Military Chaplains Association. He and his wife, Vicki, recently relocated from Vancouver, Washington, to be closer to his family; one of which is an identical twin! Dr. Townsend enjoys golf, has climbed over 14,000', jumped out of a plane, dived the Pacific Ocean, rafted 225 miles of the Colorado River (with his wife), and traveled to Australia, Asia, Southern America, Europe, Central America and numerous islands in the Pacific. He and his wife are attending Cornerstone Church.

Tim Dexter
Secondary Principal

Before joining Grace Cascade Christian Schools' administrative team as the Principal for Cascade Christian Middle School in fall 2017, Mr. Dexter served as Principal in the Prospect School District for four years. For the 2019-20 school year, Mr. Dexter's duties have expanded to become CCHS Principal as well. Prior to that Mr. Dexter was a Physical Education/Health teacher, Athletic Director, and coach for seven years in the Eagle Point School District. He and his wife, Vanessa, have two children.

Tim Teterud
Early Learning and Elementary School Principal

Mr. Teterud has been in the education industry in several capacities since 1984, and has worked with Grace Christian School for almost one half of that time. In addition to his degrees listed above, Mr. Teterud has studied at Western Baptist Seminary for one year toward a Master of Science in Church Music. Mr. Teterud has been married since 1983 and has three adult daughters who all graduated from Cascade Christian High School and are successful leaders today! He enjoys spending time with his family, walking, and working in his yard. He loves to sing and play the piano. He enjoys taking photos and loves the Oregon Coast. He and his wife attend First Baptist Church of Medford.

Dave Fennell
Director of Advancement

Mr. Fennell first joined Grace and Cascade Christian Schools in 2004 as the Athletic Director. His current role is Director of Advancement, as well as the high school fly-fishing instructor. He and his wife have been married since 2004 and they have three boys. Mr. Fennell enjoys reading, fishing, martial arts, camping, surfing and spending time with his family. He and his family attend Jacksonville Presbyterian Church where he is also involved in the Mega Sports Summer Camp and a weekly core group.

Casey Mayben
Secondary School Advisor
Bachelor's in Education, George Fox University
Mrs. Mayben joined Cascade Christian High School as an ELA teacher in winter 2016. In fall 2016 she was also appointed the Association of Student Body (ASB) Adviser and in 2017 she began teaching a course in Leadership for all students who are a part of the ASB and for class officers. Mrs. Mayben and her husband have two daughters, of which one currently attends CCHS. When not in the classroom, Mrs. Mayben enjoys watching her daughters play sports: volleyball and soccer.

Nate Mayben
Athletic Director/ Secondary Dean of Students

Mr. Mayben attended Grace Christian School his pre-kindergarten through Grade 6 school years. Mr. Mayben brings years of experience in coaching, teaching and as dean. Mr. Mayben and his wife, Elizabeth, have been married since 2006. They have two children. Mr. Mayben enjoys golfing and attending sports events. He enjoys spending time with extended family whenever possible. He is currently the Manager for the Medford Mustangs. He and his family attend Cornerstone Christian Church.

Terry Roehl
Assistant Principal of Elementary

After teaching fourth grade for three years in San Diego, Mr. Roehl moved to Medford and has been with Grace Cascade Christian Schools since 1981. During that time, he taught various classes from Grades 5 to 12, as well as being yearbook advisor, athletic director, administrator, coach, and on-call sound technician. He and his wife, Kathy, have two adult children who both attended Grace and Cascade from Pre-kindergarten through grade 12. Their five grandchildren are all students at Grace Cascade Christian Schools. Mr. Roehl enjoys camping, fishing, golf, photography, playing guitar, and all manner of electronic gizmos. He and his wife attend First Baptist Church of Medford.

Kristin Eaton
Human Resources Coordinator

Mrs. Eaton joined the Grace Cascade family in 2019 to serve as Human Resource Coordinator. Mrs. Eaton has been married to her husband John since 2010. The couple have two children- Caleb and Hannah. She and her family attend Living Waters Church, where she is involved with the worship team. Mrs. Eaton enjoys playing music, garage sales and thrift shopping, hosting parties, and traveling with her family.

Sara Bailey
Admissions Assistant/Volunteer Coordinator

Mrs. Bailey has served in a variety of roles since 2010 at Grace Cascade Christian Schools, and presently helps manage prospective students and their families through the admissions process. She and her husband Chris have two children- Mason, a CCHS graduate ('18) currently serving in the US Marine Corps, and Grace, who is a senior at Cascade. Sara and her family attend Applegate Christian Fellowship.
For someone who also oversees volunteering at GCCS, she fittingly is a volunteer in a number of areas. For several years, Mrs. Bailey was a volunteer in the children's wing at church, and she currently lends her support to the Cascade Christian trap shooting team.

Katherine Parker
Holy Joe's Food Assistant
Katy Parker joined the team at Holy Joe's in the Fall of 2019. She attends The Worship Center, and enjoys participating in women's Bible studies. Miss Parker has an 11-year old chihuahua named Cuppy. She is very passionate about animal rescuing, and hopes to have her own rescue sanctuary one day.
Ara Wilson

Ara brought her talents to the Grace Cascade family in 2020. She and her husband have six children- a 19 year old, 16 year old twins and two 14 year olds, all boys, with one daughter who is 6. She and her family attend New Life Nazarene.
Ara enjoys helping others, especially children. She serves as a Youth For Christ volunteer, and also helps out at church.


Ray Cuellar
District Campus Security / School Security Officer
Mr. Ray Cuellar (“Kway-ahr”) is the campus security person for the Cascade Christian campus, which is home to our middle and high schools. A graduate of the Oregon Police Academy, Ray has extensive experience and training in public safety. Ray has recently relocated to the valley after a successful and lengthy career in law enforcement with the Prineville Police Department. He and his wife are pleased to move where they can be nearer to family (and grandchildren).

Nancie Garris
Print Shop, Substitute, Facilities Assistant

Nancie has served at Grace Cascade Christian Schools since 1995. Her family has a longstanding connection with GCCS: she is sister to Joni Mitchell- a CCHS grad, staff member and parent- and her children all came through our schools. Married to Stan since 1986, their daughter Michelle graduated in 2007, Michelle's husband- Ben Baumgarten- graduated in 2006. Another daughter, Andrea, graduated in 2008, and she is married to Cascade grad Jordan Banks. Nancie and Stan also have three grandchildren.
Nancie and Stan attend First Baptist Church in Medford. Nancie sings on the worship team, and she directed choir at FBC for 10 years. She enjoys camping, playing piano, singing, being with family. Mrs. Garris also loves the outdoors (especially during autumn).

Becky Griffin
Development & Marketing Coordinator

Becky has been part of the team at Cascade Christian since 2015, lending her talents in the arena of marketing. She and her husband Jeremiah have been married for 21 years, and they have two children: a son, Parker, who graduated from CCHS in 2020, and a daughter, Molly, who is a current student. The Griffins attend Harvest Baptist Temple, where she has worked with the youth program. Becky enjoys outdoor activities, crafts and anything creative.

Jim McCoy
Communication Coordinator, Broadcasting Teacher
Bachelor of Science in Communications, Southern Oregon University
Mr. McCoy brings to Cascade Christian High School over four decades of experience in media. Prior to joining the GCCS staff, he had been the play-by-play announcer on the radio for Challenger athletics since 2009. He is a proud Cascade Christian High School graduate from the class in 1982. When he is away from broadcasting he enjoys being outdoors, making music, and watching his kids sporting and musical events. Mr. McCoy and his wife, Lynnae, have been married since 1995 and they have two daughters and one son- who is a CCHS student. Their family attends Community Bible Church - Central Point, where Mr. McCoy is involved in various capacities of worship: singer, guitarist, percussionist, and worship leader.

Michelle Payne

Mrs. Payne has been serving at Grace Cascade since 2012. As you might guess, she enjoys cooking, baking, and gardening. She also can't go a day without listening to music, and there's always music playing at Holy Joe's.
Mrs. Payne has been married to her husband Johnny for 30 years. They have three grown children- Rachel, Maeve, and Declan - plus two dogs, Leia and Remy. She attends Heritage Christian Church in Medford.

Kris Smith
Finance Manager
Associates Degree, Accounting & Finance- Raritan Valley Community College
Kris has been a part of the Grace Cascade family since 2003. Her two daughters- Stephanie ('10) and Carly ('12)- are Cascade Christian High School graduates. Mrs. Smith attends Jacksonville Presbyterian, where she served in children's ministry for five years, and worked with their youth program for another 16 years. Her home is now a gathering place for a community group for young adults. Kris has many hobbies, along with her golden retriever Hallie: camping, hiking, kayaking, and spending time with her family and friends. She is also a big fan of the Boston Red Sox.

Mandy Waits
Administrative Assistant to Head of Schools
Mrs. Waits helps with Women’s events at New Life Church of the Nazarene, where she attends with her family. She was formerly the Media/Promotions Chair for the Valley Wide Word for Women organization. She has a personal history with Grace Cascade Christian Schools, having attended Grace Christian her 4th-8th grade years. She is married to Drew Waits, who teachers the Cascade Christian High School Trades Academy - Plumbing and Welding. They have three boys - Austin, Colton, and Bowen. Her hobbies include creating digital art, such as photos, posters, and postcards. She also loves the outdoors, spending time at the beach or lake.

Traci Williams
Accounts Receivable/ Tuition Manager
Mrs. Williams has been with Grace Cascade Christian Schools since 2000. She and her husband, Dan, have been married since 1987. They have two adult daughters, Jenna and Kristen, and one granddaughter. Mrs. Williams loves animals and has been volunteering at the Southern Oregon Humane Society since 2008 where she walks and socializes dogs. She attends First Church of the Nazarene where she helps to facilitate women's Bible studies (usually Beth Moore) on Wednesday nights.
